  1.                        You just realized that your favorite CD has a
  2.                        scratch across the surface. Before you toss it,
  3.                        try these solutions for removing scratches.

  8.                        Here's How:

  10.                          1.Most CDs can easily be replaced, but if
  11.                             this one is very important to you, first
  12.                             determine how badly the disc is
  13.                             scratched.
  14.                          2.Minor scratches- Wiping the disc with a
  15.                             mild abrasive may do the job. Here are
  16.                             some possibilities: furniture polish, silver
  17.                             polish or toothpaste.
  18.                          3.Larger scratches- Apply a filler over the
  19.                             whole disc and buff out with a lint free
  20.                             cloth. Some fillers: car wax or furniture
  21.                             wax. This method should work, but the
  22.                             disc may be more prone to damage due
  23.                             to the soft wax.
  24.                          4.Consider using a professional to remove
  25.                             scratches from truly valuable CDs.

  30.                          1.Always wipe from the center to the
  31.                             outside edge of the disc.
  32.                          2.Scratches all the way through the disc are
  33.                             generally unrepairable.
